Content is King. OK, this has been repeated so much that it's now something of a cliché. But that’s the thing about clichés; they’re overused because they resonate, concisely communicating something valid that people seize on. I personally prefer ‘Content is Queen’, but the message is the same - if you want to be successful in marketing, you need great content. Something compelling, valuable, and useful to your audience. The kind of content that people will want to save, screenshot and share with their friends.
Tell a good story
Storytelling is one of the oldest and most effective forms of marketing. It's a way to connect with your audience on an emotional level and create a lasting impression. When you tell a story with your marketing, you're not just selling a product or service; you're selling an idea or a vision. And when you do it well, people will remember your story long after they've forgotten the product you were selling. Great copywriting is essential to great marketing. By following these tips, you can start creating content that will engage and persuade your audience.
Be useful
People don't just want to be entertained; they want to be informed and educated. If you can provide value to your audience, they'll keep coming back for more. When you're creating content, always ask yourself: Is this something my audience will find useful? Would I find this useful? If the answer is no, then it's time to go back to the drawing board. Sharing industry tips and hacks that are relevant to your target audience will keep followers coming back for more. Remember though, content doesn’t always have to be educational all of the time; using humour that targets your niche audience will make a positive impact. Making your audience smile is still ‘useful’, and occasional witty insights can help make you more memorable.
Don’t let poor grammar let you down
Good grammar and spelling is vital in any written content. It helps convey your message clearly, while illustrating that you’re operating a credible and professional business. There won’t be any ambivalence about what you’re saying and your readers will be more likely to trust what you have to say.
Autocorrect can be a secret saboteur when it comes to spelling. This ‘helpful’ function can change the meaning of your message, transforming it into something random, unrelated to the point you’re actually making. Re-read your text before publishing online – and avoid the confusion shown in the examples below! (Bespoke image, WIP)

You’re creating content to engage with potential clients, not confuse them 😉
What’s in your marketing mix?
Solid content creation is the chief element in marketing, but your content’s reach and impact can always be enhanced. You also need to have a well-rounded marketing strategy that includes other elements such as SEO, knowledge of social media algorithms, and pay-per-click advertising.
When you’re telling your story, consider all of the elements of your marketing mix. A well-rounded approach is key to success.
